Lobby Day 2017

January 23, 2017

OneVirginia2021 will have our first Lobby Day this 2017 session on Monday, January 23rd!

Host contact info: Blake Wheelock ([email protected])

2017 is an important year for redistricting reform! OneVirginia2021 is organizing a Lobby Day to ensure a strong voice is heard early in the legislative session. Advocates are invited to meet with state legislators and encourage them to support fair redistricting reform!

The main point of Lobby Day is to meet with your legislators and have your voiced heard! OneVirginia2021 will set up your appointment (since we can coordinate with the others from your district).

There is security both at the General Assembly Building and the State Capitol.  It is hard to tell what the wait may be, but we expect quite a few people in the area on Monday. Please be aware of this fact and remember getting through security may take some time. Please dress accordingly and leave bulky objects at home or in your car.

Business causal is recommended

Already signed up? Find your appointment time here

Some of you have appointment times outside our timeframe of 9:00-11:00am. If you cannot make those appointment times please let me know. The legislators could only meet in-person at that time. You can still go and lobby, it will just be with a staff member though and not a legislator.

Please be aware of the fact of the fluid nature of the General Assembly session. Meetings run over and appointments need to be moved. If for some reason your legislator cannot see you, a member of their staff will see you and talk with you about redistricting reform.

1) If you think your legislator is wrong. Please check HERE. If it is wrong please let me know ASAP, and I will fix it. ([email protected])
2) If there is a “TBD” in your space it means I have still yet to confirm with your legislator. They are super busy and I will continue to follow up with them until we get an appointment. At this point if you still have a TBD, I am just going to have you go to your legislators office when you have time and try and get in to see them.
3) If there is an “N/A” in a space it means you have said you can’t make our lobby day but would like to help. If this has changed and you now can make it please let me know ASAP
4) The number (###) next to your legislator is their Room Number.
5) If there is a “-” in a space, it means you don’t have a Delegate right now. You used to have Jennifer McClellan but she is now a Senator and there has been no election yet for her seat.
