Voters should pick their representatives

THE U.S. SUPREME Court heard an important case for Virginia last month, Bethune-Hill v. Virginia State Board of Elections, regarding how gerrymandering has divided our communities. During the questioning, Justice Elena Kagan noted that racial gerrymandering, which is forbidden, is hard to distinguish from political gerrymandering, which the courts have thus far permitted.
